Stay At Home Moms Be Informed, Be Aware, or You'll Get Scammed!
With the internet being so highly accessible to everyone, it is very easy for scammers to take advantage of trusting and uninformed people. The easiest targets for scammers are stay-at-home moms, the elderly, and the under-privileged. All these people have one thing in common – they are uninformed.
When I went from the workforce to being a stay-at-home mom, time and internet access became quite limited. Most of my time was spent caring for my son. In order to earn extra income, I would sign-up for ads & jobs that promised quick and easy money.
These "so-called" promises were anything but quick and easy. Most were scams that required you to buy their products BEFORE you can start earning money. However, what they often fail to tell you is that you can earn UP TO the promised amount but, most of the time, you will only earn a few cents here and there.
After a few false starts, I realized that trying to make “quick” money was only making me lose income really quickly. Not only had I wasted money in buying their product, I had wasted time “learning” about their product & program.
What I have truly learned from this experience was that I myself do not know enough to trust what is out there on the internet. Because of lack of resources and limited time, I needed support from others to stay informed and keep from being scammed.
The best way to do this is to join a trusted network or group (such as “MomInNeed”) and ask people about anything that may seem questionable. Just take a look at some of the ads. Notice how cleverly written they are? That's because there are highly trained and highly paid people writing the sales page to induce you into buying, joining, and intimidating you.
This can be easily done through forums and blogs. People who have already gone through the experience can help direct and guide me (and you)…And they can help me look up information to keep me well informed.
These trusted sites already have resources on their website that would help direct me in the right direction without me spending a lot of time researching things for myself. The best thing you can do for yourself and not be taken advantage of is to gather support by joining trusted groups and sites…and ASK QUESTIONS! |
